Endymion. The name is derived from Greek mythology. Endymion, a mere mortal, was a shepherd. Selene, the moon goddess, was drawn to the handsome young man. At the request of Selene, Zeus, the supreme leader, the god of the sky and cloud gatherer, gave Endymion eternal life so that Selene could lovingly kiss him each night.

In the Pacific Northwest there are valleys with mountain backdrops, where, at night, no city lights interfere with the illumination from the stars or moon; where the air is clean, the water pure and the ground has a blanket of wild flowers and grasses with many hues.
