Wind Song
Wind Song

This 5 X 7 inch acrylic painting was donated to the fund raising efforts for the Camano Island Library Project. I am pleased to report that it went to a new home following the auction  "Reading Between the Vines" fund raiser held on March 20,  2010.

When the wind blows on Camano Island, it's wise to pay heed.  I mean, it really can be strong.  Be sure you've got the lid on the trash cans real tight and the door to the outbuilding latched otherwise they just might be found on Whidbey Island or even in another county.

The good folks with the PUD have really had their hands full this past windy season and have shown that they are made of the right stuff.  The power outages have been at a minimum; and when the outages have happened, they have been promptly addressed.

Yes, the wind is a topic of much talk up this way and while there's not a lot that talking will accomplish, perhaps it reminds us to check our lids and doors.

When I was a kid, there was a song, from a play "Paint Your Wagon" named:  They call the wind Miriah.  Perhaps the name "Miriah" had a better ring than "Fred".

Why is it that the wind seems to blow more fiercely  at night?  I guess, the answer my friend, is blowin' in the wind.
