It seems that no matter where one calls home on Camano Island, it is done with loving affection. At times, people even take their areas as part of their identity. As a whole, I think we find it special to call ourselves "islanders". We like the idea of looking over a body of water to see the mainland or another island.
"Over on the Mainland" is an acrylic on gesso board painting about 2 3/8 X 3 inches mounted in a floating frame which is about 4 1/2 X 5 inches.
This little painting is on exhibit during the "Honey I Shrunk The Art" show at the Matzke Fine Arts Gallery.
